Facebook Marketing Tips # 2

Have a purpose

It is a practical problem that comes with social media marketing of all kinds: Facebook especially bears a potential pitfall to be a serious distraction to a business owner or marketing professional.

The only real way to avoid this pitfall is to set some rules of engagement and most importantly have a clear purpose.

Here are some goals to help you focus your efforts:

Goal # 1: expand your reach

Marketing with Facebook should almost always involve aims to reach key people that you do not already have good relation with. It is also one of the most powerful elements of marketing with social media in General.

If you are a loan officer, you can target real estate agents. If you are an advertising sales professional, enables you to target the head of marketing for medium and large businesses with proven ad budgets.

Expand your reach, in the case of Facebook is about finding the key people and ask that they be your friend. my personal experience is that approximately 60-75% of all friend requests I make are accepted, so don't worry if you like, or they will not accept you. This is still business-you know it, and you know it.

A last remark about "reach"-has a large group of friends on Facebook is impressive to your visitors; It is a kind of "social proof" it is invaluable to the conversion of a prospect to a client or customer. If so many people are your friends, you should be nice to know ... get it?

At this time must distinguish between using Facebook Fan pages compared with using your Facebook profile for marketing purposes; the answer is very on preference, but it probably the type of business you have. I find that the local service based businesses such as mortgage loans, real estate and insurance professionals get good traction by using profiles, but higher advertising based businesses get good traction with fan pages. Here is the short answer to the question: use BOTH-Facebook is emerging as the next Google and for many people jumped on Google too late. Not commit the error. Market with both profile and fan pages, there are good reasons to do both.

For the purposes of this article, I discuss Facebook Profile Marketing as a solid social media strategy.

When requesting friendship Central prospects in your target marketing, please note that Facebook is socially. Stay away from pitch based interaction completely and build this relationship through engagement.

Goal # 2: provides the value

Delivers value is the key to winning the hearts and minds of your target market.Be free with information that will help your friends on Facebook to better their success in life or business.

The Internet is full of good (not all) content that you can quickly mines and distribute to your friends or fans on Facebook.Make sure it has quality, and it applies. There is no need to throw away just information out.Quality is better than quantity in this case.Better the value of the content, the more likely it is to actually engage with your connections.Mediocre content allows your relations finally assumes that you post is not worth their time. Let not happen, or you have blown a good option.

Goal # 3: be interactive

You have to spend a few minutes each day join conversations, taste and comment on other people updates.

The value here is multifold and dignified an entire blog post, but the short of it: viral exposure to other networks, Visual exposure to the you comment on relational exposure by displaying interest as a human being.

Objective # 4: Bring the conversation offline

Again, this post is focused on the local (sales commercial based) the company's marketing. This type of business is handled most often on a face to face, handshake basis. in order to bring the conversation to the next level, hold an event and invite your fans, or friends to join in. Event should now begin to move the conversation toward business. Event should be a great value gift to your target market.

This is not a new strategy in marketing. with this said, event based marketing is still one of the most powerful marketing strategies around and too many sales professional or business owners take a pass on the power. Convert even 5-10 new Facebook friends to a seminar, webinar, round table or worthy charity event is like an engagement ring in a hopeful relationship. it is not much closed, but you can almost put a date on sale.

Our times the reality is that trade with Facebook is no longer an optional affair. These goals will help you to be focused and productive in their efforts.
